Love / Hate Challenge

I was recently nominated for the Love / Hate Challenge by Tonya from Fourth Generation Farm Girl.  Tonya is a fantastic writer and I always look forward to her stories, poems, and recipes from the family farm.  Plus she has some of the cutest animals!  So please take a moment to check out Tonya’s site Fourth Generation Farm Girl.

Now for the Love / Hate Challenge you have to list 10 things you Love, 10 things you Hate and nominate 10 other bloggers 🙂

Here We Go!!!   These are all my “Loves” in photos…

6) I Love to Travel… Here are a few from some of my European Adventures…  Italy, France, Monaco, and England.

A few years ago we even got to see Andy Murray play on center court at Wimbledon…. “Come on ANDY!!”

8) I Love my little Garden. I love the taste of the Blackberries, Basil, Tomatoes and Peppers. I love the smells of the thyme, sage and rosemary. But most of all I love the sound of the bees all over my Provençal Lavender…  I wish I knew where they were keeping their honey

Things I Hate…..  It’s funny I don’t really stop to take picture of thing I “Hate” do you?

1) Wal-Mart

2) Frogs and Toads…. They are everywhere!  They hid in my garden, burrow down in the mulch, and just wait for me to pass by. Then they jump out of nowhere scaring the living daylights out of me.

3) I hate when the airplane pilot turns the seatbelt sign on and airplane hits turbulence.  I’m a white knuckle flyer.

4) I hate when the Grasshoppers try to eat all my Basil…. There might be more of you But I Will Win!

5) I HATE The Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles (but I love a good Football rivalry).

6) When people judge me…. Just because I’m little (5’2) doesn’t mean I can’t hit the golf ball just as far as the boys.  Just because I’m a red-head and a Taurus doesn’t mean I ALWAYS have a Temper.

7) Washing and Drying my hair.

8) I Hate doing the dishes and especially when I have to hand wash something.

9) When I have to Measure things exactly when Baking… It’s just more fun to throw stuff in and hope works.

10) I hate major election years.  Remember to listen, be kind, and be knowledgeable.

Now for the Challenge nominations….. No pressure to participate I just thought this was a fun challenge 🙂

Enjoy!

My name is Melody and I am the cook and blogger behind Meals With Mel. I have a love for traveling, I share a joy for gardening, and I have a passion for cooking. Although I do some baking, I don't consider myself a baker as I can't stand having to measure. When it comes to cooking my philosophy is add a bit of this, a dash of that, a splash of something doesn't hurt, never forget some type of pepper and always add at least one clove of garlic. Thanks for stopping by my Spicy Texas Kitchen and I hope to see you again!!! Melody

      1. Thanks so much for asking, Mel. They’re doing fine–getting bigger and bigger everyday. I’m a little concerned that I may end up with a couple of roosters. I guess time will tell! :). I’ll post some pictures soon. Have a nice weekend! 🙂

    1. So people do vacation house swapping… This could be the new trend “Kitchen Swapping” With that being said I’ll gladly cook in your kitchen in France 🙂

  1. May I add my comments about your “Love” section of the post? Please take a few of these as tongue-in-cheek from a fellow native Texan who now lives in Oregon! 😉

    1. Texas Sunrise. I can’t argue with you there, but the Oregon Coast has some awesome sunsets!

2.. Coffee and Pancakes. I drink tea and don’t like pancakes so much, so you get that one.

    3. Even if I didn’t already follow you I would because you own The Homesick Texan cookbook by Lisa Fain.

    4. I have been enamored with dinosaurs since a small child, and I still am! Looky what just opened up in Lincoln City, Oregon, just a few miles from our RV property there! Here is a link to the video about it!

    5. I was raised in Houston. The Oilers are gone, but, well, nothing more needs to be said about that.

    6. I love to travel too. New Zealand is on my bucket list.

    7. The ocean. Well, aren’t you land-locked in Dallas? However, I am too but we have RV property river just five miles from the coast of Oregon we can boat out to on the ocean. Ahhhh. I like the ocean too but hate the sand in the car, lol.

    8. I love my garden too! But mine is all in planter pots. Aside from flowers, I have thyme, tarragon, basil, dill, green onions, and tomatoes, both cherry and early girls.

    9. Your photos of France are gorgeous! The only connection I have to France is we hosted a foreign exchange student from France last year for 3 weeks. That was a lot of fun! And she was so sweet and gave us some awesome souvenirs!

    10. Awwww, you both look so sweet in your 10th anniversary photo. Me and my husband will be celebrating our 19th this year.

That’s all I had to say. It was fun to read all of yours. 🙂
